Welcome

Chairperson Heather Kinnear welcomed all members and guests to the meeting and introduced guest speaker Madam Justice Deluzio.

Guest Speaker

Madam Justice Deluzio "Domestic Violence Issues in Family Court? and Bill 133. Heather presented her with a cheque for $250, which she declined and asked that the monies be forwarded to the Quinte District Victims Fund.

Minutes from the 2008 AGM approved with no omissions or errors.

Introduction of current committee executives 2008-2009/2009-2010.

It has been noted that the current committee is willing to hold the same positions for one more year at which a totally new committee will be chosen. Thank you was given to the Steering Committee and general members for all their hard work during this past year. Community partners were also given a big thank you by the committee.

Sub-Committee

Executive Report:
Heather Kinnear presented her report for 2008/2009.
Make note that a lot of hard work went into utilizing the annual funding for this past year. Thank you was given to the Ministry for the funding. Heather asked the steering committee to consider whether or not to charge membership fee any longer as we have annualized funding each year. This will be brought up at the June meeting.

Financial Report:

Gale Cole provided a written financial statement which was approved. Special thanks given to Shirley Daniels for all her help and also a special thanks to Heather Kinnear for the work she has put into the budget submission to the Ministry.

Education and Training:

Kim Charlebois submitted her committee report.

Protocol Committee:

North Hastings Protocol report was submitted by Sarah Phoenix.
Centre and South Hastings Protocol report was submitted by Karen McCoy.
Prince Edward Protocol report was submitted by Heather Kinnear on behalf of Sandy Watson-Moyles.

Special notation was made that all three districts completed and signed their protocols on the same day.

Membership Committee:

Kelly Limin presented her report and thanked the committee for organizing the AGM lunch/meeting event.

Child and Youth Committee:

Susan Sweetman presented her report for this committee and made note that anyone interested in being part of either one of these committees is to let her know.

Projects Committee:

Sarah Phoenix presented her report for Neightbourhood Friends and Family. Susan Sweetman presented her report for the Web Site Project.
