AGM package ? looked at past packages given out for 2009, 2010. It was discussed that Ashley would be responsible for making sure everyone got the information to her so the packages could be made up in advance.
The minutes for the AGM 2009 do not include who attended and if any past members of the membership committee would have that information somewhere it would be great to forward that to Cheryl and Ashley.
2011 AGM, May 11th, would be the date, depending on what happens during the Dec 8th meeting, and if the QCCAV committee decides to continue with monthly meetings.
Topics for the meeting were discussed. It was suggested that the format with Lunch, 1 hour presentation and then followed by the business meeting would be good to keep. For the presentation it could come from within our members. Maybe a panel discussion with members giving updates or information regarding changes within their organizations that everyone may not be made aware of. It was suggested that maybe Kim Charlebois (SAC) could offer an update about the healing centre, or the men?s group/ Michele Arsenault could maybe speak about how everything has gone with them after all the trials any evaluations that they have had to go through/Todd from probation may have an update/or Steven Starbuck could give us an update on the Legal Aid changes and any progress that has been made.
It was discussed that maybe having presentations from within our own group would be beneficial to everyone and other members within the community could be invited to the discussion.
Location, in the past the Fairfield Inn, Churchill Room has been used and it has gone well, but as we are both new to the committee, another member that has been on the committee longer could advise us as to this.
Next Meeting, have a mini meeting after the Dec 8th meeting, plan to then have another meeting January.
