Budget
|
- Teresa Gauthier gave out copies of the budget. The executive budget seems to have some extra monies that could be available. The executive would like to discuss this situation with the steering committee. A one-time grant of up to $1500 can be available to a local non-profit event that fulfills QCCAV?s mandate of fighting domestic and/or sexual violence. Any interested agencies can submit a small explanation of their plans for this grant and how it fits within QCCAV?s mandate. The funds would have to be spent by March 31st, 2011. The submission should only be about a half-page long, and should be submitted to Ashley at coordinator@qccav.ca by the end of January. The proposals will be discussed by the steering committee during the February meeting. Any agencies who have a proposal for consideration should be at the February meeting to discuss any questions about their proposal.

Other Business

- The executive discussed the December meeting, as one executive member was not able to be there. Sarah suggested that we re-vamp the agenda such that it does not contain the exact same items each time. Perhaps if the agenda contained more detail, some people may be more inclined to attend. Ashley will put more detail in the agenda for the February meeting.
- There was a comment that the Terms of reference had not been updated in over a decade. Upon review of files, it seems as if the terms of reference have in fact been updated in October 2009. The coordinator at the time, Lori Tone, posted the revised terms of reference to the website.
- The executive committee would like to see a more frequent police presence at QCCAV meetings. We will be looking into who will be taking over the Belleville Police position at QCCAV since Sherri Meeks has changed duties. It is important to note that QCCAV understands that the same officer may not be available to attend each monthly meeting, and the use of a proxy whenever needed is fine.
- Some new suggestions for members to invite to QCCAV include Jamie McCaskill from the Family Medical Health Clinic, Angie Rail from North Hastings Family Health Team and Sandie Sidsworth of Canadian Mental Health. The executive will follow up with a personal invitation.

Review of work plan
|
- Ashley to send out e-mail requesting members? preferred contact information. If no response is given, Ashley will locate the public phone number for your agency.
- Ashley to compile all grant proposals submitted by the end of January and forward to Executive committee.
- Ashley to follow up with Cheryl to arrange a time to bring QCCAV materials to Supervised Access. Cheryl has a filing cabinet set aside for this purpose.
- Executive members Sarah and Teresa to invite interested agencies to attend QCCAV or contact coordinator.
