Review of last minutes meetings

• Minutes were reviewed from the last meeting.
• Correction of name in Current Members to Sandy Watson-Moyles.

Correspondence

• Heather received an invitation to attend DVSARP advisory committee meeting on September 16, 2009 at 9am from Wendy Park?s office. She will represent the committee at the meeting and report back; Committee will decide on level of participation.

Financial Report

• Review of budget which will be submitted to the Ministry.
• Additional $6,000 received from Ministry; Revision of Budget discussed; decided funds will be distributed as: $5,760 Co-ordinator position, Three Oaks administration fee $2,000, Executive $2,439, Project Development $2,000, Child & Youth $0, Membership $2,000, Education & Training $4,000, Protocol ? NH $2,500, C&S $5,000 and PEC $2,500. Funds are moveable as necessary. These amounts were agreed upon by the attending Members.
• QCCAV account $8,885.62 after $4,000 additional revenue set-aside for Education & Training.
• Membership fees temporarily suspended for 2009.

Updates/Events

SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS

Executive

• Executive met twice since last Steering Committee meeting.
• Co-ordinator was hired by the Hiring Committee starting September 9, 2009, the duties of the Co-ordinator were discussed. contact email is coordinator@qccav.ca .
• The Executive, along with the Coordinator are going to begin meeting at 12 noon the day of the Steering Committee meetings until the 1pm start time; to begin October 14, 2009; lunch will be provided and the cost will come out of the Executive budget.
• It was explained that the 2010 Executive will be "shadowing? with the 2009 Executive. Those shadowing will be Steven Starbuck, Barb Lea and Sarah Pheonix.
• At future Steering Committee meetings, the sub-committees will spend the last half hour meeting and will advise the Chair of any assistance required.
• Sub-Committees should submit budgets to Lori by email prior to December 1, 2009.
• Sub-committees to recognize a Chair and Sub-chair to ensure attendance at Steering Committee meetings.
• Steering Committee members invited to join sub-committees.

Education & Training

• Rhano Godfrey of Three Oaks is the Chair.
• Need more members as some not returning next year; Kate Lightfoot and Teresa Gauthier volunteered.

Child & Youth

• No meetings/changes since AGM; presently no members/on hold
• Heather and Steven interested in perusing "Roots of Empathy? program www.rootsofempathy.org, will report.

Network
